Halo Dot Achieves Visa Ready Certification for Tap to Phone Software Development Kit (SDK)

HALO DOT (www.HaloDot.io) – a division of Synthesis Software Technologies, today announced that it has obtained the latest Visa certification for its products. Halo Dot is a fintech that enables instant contactless payments on any Android device.

Earlier this year, Visa released new security standards for software development kits (SDKs) that enable the secure acceptance of digital payments on consumer mobile devices. This certification is known as “Full SDK” and offers significant advantages over the previous standard. Integrators using the full SDK no longer need to submit their payment application to a PCI lab for security assessment, saving them time and thousands of dollars.

An SDK is a set of coding tools that allows developers to integrate basic payment functionality into their applications without having to worry about compliance and the strict security standards associated with accepting card payments. Halo Dot has achieved Full SDK certification, which means customers will save time and money by using Halo Dot.

Previously, anyone developing a contactless payment application had to submit the application to a PCI lab for a security assessment. Visa would then approve the solution based on the findings of the PCI lab. This process typically diverted developers from their core value proposition, and the review took several weeks, with lab fees costing tens of thousands of dollars—all of which were prohibitive to adoption of SoftPOS technology.

Now anyone using Halo.SDK can quickly and easily launch their SoftPOS payment app without any security lab fees. A new solution can be launched in just days because Halo Dot has reduced barriers and complexity.

Customers who would benefit from the new Halo.SDK include payment solution providers (PSPs), merchant aggregators and ISOs, large retailers, electronic cash register vendors, and acquirers.

Pierre Aurel, Product Director at Halo Dot, said, “Our goal at Halo Dot has always been simplicity, focusing on how we can simplify security, compliance and scalability for our customers. Our new SDK allows app makers to quickly launch payment products without the overhead previously associated with card payments. »

Aurel adds: “Obtaining this Visa certification validates our expertise in the field of contactless payments. Our team’s passion and knowledge of mobile, cloud and cybersecurity defines us as leaders in the SoftPOS space. »
