Capital One launches its B2B software business

Capital One Financial Corp. launched Capital One Software, an enterprise B2B software company that will offer cloud and data management solutions for B2B companies that work in the cloud, according to a Wednesday, June 1 press release.

The first product of the new initiative is Capital One Slingshot, a data management solution for customers of Snowflake, the Data Cloud Company, which is designed to help enterprises adopt Snowflake Data Cloud faster, manage cloud costs and automate processes. Capital One has used its own internal cloud and data management tools for years, the press release said.

“We recognize that many other companies face similar data management needs as they accelerate their cloud and data journeys. Therefore, bringing to market some of the tools we have created and released ‘Scaling as enterprise B2B software solutions is a natural evolution for us,’ Ravi Raghu, executive vice president and head of Capital One Software, said in the press release.

Slingshot helps businesses manage costs with smart cost savings recommendations and dashboards to monitor warehouse performance; Gain insight and visibility into Snowflake cost and usage changes through proactive alerts. federate warehouse administration across lines of business and at scale without skyrocketing new costs; and automate governance using custom workflows, dynamic warehouse provisioning, and self-service features, depending on version.

In March, Capital One partnered with Vivid Seats on a ticketing platform called Capital One Entertainment that will allow cardholders to redeem rewards for tickets to more than 500,000 events.

In addition to tickets, Vivid Seats said cardholders will be able to purchase premium ticket packages, events and on-site benefits, including Premier seats, access passes, event merchandise and takeaway gifts.
